24 Hours in Mykonos, Greece

Overall vibe of Mykonos, Greece:

Mykonos is one of the most popular Greek islands with a vibe centered around partying and tourism. It’s very Instagram-worthy but it wasn’t our favorite because it’s extremely crowded. If you already have plans to go to Mykonos or need to pass through for 24 hours like us, I would definitely check out the spots we loved below. Otherwise, I personally wouldn’t recommend it unless you love partying and crowds.

Our favorite Greek Islands were Milos & Naxos if you want to check those out :)

Getting to Mykonos:

One of the best ways to get to Mykonos is by ferry. We used Ferry Hopper to go from Milos to Naxos to Mykonos and it was super easy!

Lunch:

Kastros (Instagram: @kastros_mykonos): AMAZING, must-try seafood restaurant with views of the water!! We got the sea bass ceviche, calamari and sea bass fillet and it was all truly exquisite (the taste and the presentation!). I highly recommend going here for lunch or dinner!!

Beaches:

Scorpios (Instagram: @scorpiosmyk): This place is the whole damn vibe!! It’s a trendy, stunning beach club where you can rent day beds or grab dinner. It reminded me of the energy in Tulum, which is one of my favorite places ever! Make sure to make reservations in advance; we tried to walk in but unfortunately, nothing was available the day of but it was nice to even see it and experience the energy of it (even if only for a few minutes lol).

Sun solstice: this beach was highly recommended by locals for a less touristy, quieter beach. We didn’t end up going since we only had 1 night in Mykonos but it’s somewhere I would have gone if we had more time.

Beaches to skip:

Little Venice Beach: let’s just say, it wasn’t very clean! And I’ll leave it at that ;)

Super Paradise Beach: it’s super crowded and they blare loud music all day. This was somewhere I probably would have enjoyed while I was in college but we just prefer something a little more low key these days.

Dinner:

D’Angelo (Instagram: @dangelo_restaurant_mykonos): amazing Italian restaurant with really good pizza and pasta!

Sunset & Cocktails:

Rhapsody (Instagram: @rhapsody_bar): super cute bar with a nice, little sunroom overlooking the water and windmills in Little Venice. Great spot to grab an espresso freddo in the afternoon or do happy hour and watch the sunset.

Other things to do/see:

Windmills in Little Venice: they are cool to see but it’s VERY crowded. I would recommend going to Rhapsody Bar and sitting in the sun room and watching sunset from there (the photo below is actually taken from the Rhapsody patio).

Walk around & shop in Little Venice: like most of the Greek islands, there are tons of cute shops and cafes in Little Venice!

Go on a boat: if we’d stayed longer, we definitely would have done a boat day and explored other parts of the island outside of Little Venice.

Where we stayed:

Secret Garden Apartments #4 Mykonos Town: We stayed in this airbnb and it was exactly what we were looking for (simple but great location) for our 1 night stay!

Overall, we LOVED the spots we went to but Mykonos just wasn’t our vibe. I’m sure there are less touristy parts of the island that are amazing but this was just our short experience. The prices were also a lot higher than Milos and Naxos (islands we LOVED!!) but it wasn’t better quality or a better experience. I’m always going to share my honest personal experience but of course, feel into your own intuition to decide if going to Mykonos is aligned for you.
