Sardinia is a magical island in the Tyrrhenian Sea off of the west coast of Italy. It’s beautiful, aqua waters and mountainous landscape rivals Greece. Basically everywhere you go, you’re surrounded by incredible views and majestic beaches. The food is a mix of Mediterranean seafood, Italian pasta and pizza - so good

I’m so excited to share our Italy road trip itinerary with you and everything we learned about what we’d do different next time. Our trip was truly amazing but we might have tried to squeeze in too many places, too spread out for a 2 week trip.

Montepulciano is one of my favorite places I’ve ever been. It’s nestled right in the beautiful Tuscan hills and has an incredibly charming, historic, peaceful vibe. It’s a quaint town with some incredible restaurants, cute shops and tons nearby activities like hot springs, wineries, day trips to other cool towns, etc.

The Dolomites are an epic mountain range in Northern Italy, basically bordering Switzerland and Austria. The moutains, views and lakes are absolutely breathtaking and there’s a beautifully unique blend of Austrian, German and Italian cultures. If you like to hike, ski or just soak in beautiful nature, you will love the Dolomites.

Verona is a super charming, little Italian city with amazing food, great walkability and beautiful architecture. It’s the perfect balance of low-key and lively. We only spent 24 hours in Verona but absolutely fell in love! I’m so excited to share our favorite spots with you (we literally had the BEST day).

Portugal is an ideal country for a 1-3 week road trip! There is soooo much to see and do and the coastline is truly breathtaking. We spent a week of our 2.5 week Europe trip in Portugal and absolutely LOVED it!! Knowing what I know now after spending a week between Algarve and Lisbon, this is the road trip I’d recommend.

Lagos is a laid-back town on the southern coast of Portugal. It’s famous for it’s coast lines and beautiful cliffs and rock formations. It was our least favorite place on our 2.5 week Europe trip and it seemed a place for people in their young 20’s to party.

Lisbon is such a magical, trendy, lively city!! It has everything you’d want in a big city - beautiful architecture, amazing food, cute cafes, incredible walkability and is super close to incredible beaches and nature spots!

I fell in love with Seville, Spain and the slower-paced, intentional way of living immediately. There’s so much to see and do…cute cafes, tapas EVERYWHERE, the most beautiful buildings and cute streets, great shopping, etc. but the best part about Seville is the energy.

Mykonos is one of the most popular Greek islands with a vibe centered around partying and tourism. It’s very Instagram-worthy but it wasn’t our favorite because it’s extremely crowded. If you already have plans to go to Mykonos or need to pass through for 24 hours like us, I would definitely check out the spots we loved below.

Naxos is a bigger Greek island with so many cute little mountain towns to explore, hiking (I was shocked at how expansive the mountains were) and beautiful beaches. The main part of Naxos town is also really fun, cute and lively (not overly swarming with tourists like some of the more popular islands like Mykonos or Santorini).

Milos, Greece is one of the most magical places I’ve ever been.  There’s so much to do and see in Milos - beautiful unique beaches, delicious restaurants, cute little towns, boat trips and more! It’s a bit quieter than some of the more popular islands like Santorini and Mykonos but still has a lively, fun feel to it.
