The Complete Seville, Spain Travel Guide

Overall vibe of Seville, Spain:

I fell in love with Seville, Spain and the slower-paced, intentional way of living immediately. There’s so much to see and do…cute cafes, tapas EVERYWHERE, the most beautiful buildings and cute streets, great shopping, etc. but the best part about Seville is the energy. It’s lively, but peaceful and it has incredible depth in terms of the culture, history and people. I had no idea what to expect coming here but it was one of my favorite cities I’ve been in Europe.

How long to stay in Seville:

Forever ;) But really, we loved it so much and there’s so much to experience. We packed a lot into 3 days but could have easily spent a week here or more. It would also be a great home base for a longer trip because we’ve heard there’s amazing day trips to nearby towns like Cordoba, Grenada and Ronda and you’re super close to Portugal, which we were also obsessed with.

Where to stay in Seville:

We stayed in the Centro neighborhood, which was very close to the cathedral. I HIGHLY recommend this area. You can walk everywhere and it’s a really cute area filled with cafes, shops and close to most of the best sights to see.

This is the Airbnb we stayed in: Enjoy the best of Seville from this central and exclusive penthouse with terrace. It was the PERFECT location, the interior is ridiculously stunning and the rooftop views are incredible (especially for the price!!).

Hotels:

We didn’t stay in these but they caught my eye when we stumbled on them and the locations were great.

Walk - Seville is a very walkable city!

Where to eat and drink:

Best tapas restaurants in Seville:

La Bartola (Instagram: @la_bartola_bar): small, authentic, lively tapas restaurant (our fav tapas place we tried). We got the manchego, croquettes, steak, salmon, red rice and grilled octopus it was all SO unique and SO good. I also loved the Tierra Savia Mirlo Viognier white wine. We went 2 nights in a row, we loved it so much! Must go spot for dinner!

Bar La Catedral (Instagram: @bartapassevilla): cute tapas spot on a really fun, lively street (it does seem like a tourist street but we loved it).

La Brunilda (Instagram: @labrunildatapas): popular modern tapas spot with unique fusion flavors. The wok noodles and salmon were my fav. Make a reservation because the line was out the door before they even opened.

Skip El Pinton and Torres y Garcia: These are tourist traps (sorry LOL). Lots of blogs recommended these spots but as soon as we walked inside, we knew they weren’t the vibe.

Non-tapas restaurants in Seville:

La Mala Brunch (Instagram: @lamalabrunch): healthy cafe with smoothies, salads, bagel sandwiches, toasts, juice and kombucha. We were obsessed with this place and went every day for lunch or breakfast!! The chicken salad and New York bagel were both phenomenal! We also tried Filo, another popular healthy cafe but Mala was WAY better.

Where to drink in Seville:

Second Room (Instagram: @thesecondroomsevilla): cute cocktail bar with low-key vibey music

La Bodega and Bar Alfalfa: we didn’t go but these were both recommended by locals and looked really cute and lively. They may also be good spots for tapas!

Abba Hotel: we didn’t go but we could see the rooftop bar from our Airbnb rooftop and it looked really nice!

Coffee & ice cream:

Maria Limones (Instagram: @handlelink): good ice cream.

Syra Coffee (Instagram: @syracoffee): great coffee shop with yummy cookies (it’s in the Room007 Select Hotel if you end up staying there).

What to do:

I am not usually one to love sight-seeing, museums and history but Seville is one city I LOVED doing all the most touristy things.

Go to a Flamenco Show (we went to Teatro Flamenco Seville): This is something you HAVE TO DO in Seville. It was SOOO incredible; I cried the whole time. It’s hard to put in words but you can really FEEL the energy and soul of the dancers. I had an amazing conversation with a man who worked there who said “to feel is to live. everything else is secondary.” It landed so deep for me and really spoke to the magical soul of Seville. When I walked out of the show he asked “How do you feel? Without weight right?”. That was exactly the feeling and it resonated so much for me because this is what we do in my inner voice sessions - we come into deep presence and as you do the heavy energy you’ve been carrying around transmutes itself back into presence and peace.

Real Alcazar De Sevilla: This royal palace is truly mind blowing; its HUGE and SO BEAUTIFUL. We spent an hour walking around but you could easily get lost in the unreal beauty for several hours…it’s like a walking meditation. We reserved tickets the morning of to avoid the line!

Plaza De Espana: Spain is famous for its plazas and this one is STUNNING. There was a flamenco dancer was in the plaza which added so much to our experience - I literally cried tears of joy watching!

Aire Ancient Bath House (Instagram: @aireancientbaths_es): We did the 60 min massage plus the 75 min bath house experience and we loved it! The bath house was magical…there’s hot, warm and cold pools, a roof top pool, steam room and salt pool where you can float (my fav). We made reservations the day before.

Catedral De Sevilla: it’s beautiful and definitely worth seeing. I would recommend doing the climb/walk to the top of the La Giralda Tower - it’s definitely not easy and there’s a lot of people but you get views of the entire city! We bought tickets the day of to avoid the lines!

Bull Fighting at Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla: There weren’t any going on when we were here but it seems like a really unique experience worth having!

Explore Triana Neighborhood: famous neighborhood on the river that’s fun to walk around!

The río Guadalquivir in Seville Spain

Triana Neighborhood

Museo de Bellas Artes: beautiful museum with HUGE, wall sized paintings and beautiful architecture.

Shop: there are TONS of great shops in the Centro area. I loved Mango, Zara and Oysho but there’s so many to stumble upon in the area.

In case you need to do laundry:

Alfalfa Laundry: super easy, self service, clean laundry place. It’s nothing luxurious or special but it got the job done! We went first thing in the morning and all of the washers/dryers were open but there aren’t many.
