Verona Italy: A Pasta And Walking Lover’s Dream Destination

Overall vibe of Verona, Italy:

Verona is a super charming, little Italian city with amazing food, great walkability and beautiful architecture. It’s the perfect balance of low-key and lively. We only spent 24 hours in Verona but absolutely fell in love! I’m so excited to share our favorite spots with you (we literally had the BEST day).

Where to stay in Verona

We stayed in this Airbnb near Piazza Erbe and absolutely loved it! It was very spacious/clean, had beautiful windows/views and you could walk to everything!

If this Airbnb isn’t available, I’d recommend staying in this area or anywhere in the city center; it was so nice being able to walk everywhere.

Best restaurants in Verona

Elk Bakery (Instagram: @elk.bakery): amazing healthy cafe for breakfast/brunch/lunch with amazing food and coffee. We loved it so much, we went 3 times in 24 hours (twice for food and another for a second coffee)!

Torcolo (Instagram: @ristorantetorcolo): the BEST pasta we had not just on this 2 week Italy trip, but ever!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The pesto and truffle pastas were life changing. The wine was amazing. OH, and they serve everything on Versace plates which a vibe, obvi.

Antica Bottega Vino (Instagram: @anticabottegadelvino): we only had one night in Verona but this is where we would have gone if we had another night. It was recommended by our local Airbnb host and when we walked by, you could tell it was a whole vibe; it was lively and filled with people smiling, eating and cheers-ing their wine glasses.

Best things to do in Verona

Walk: one of our favorite things to do while traveling is to just flow and wander (hence the blog name). Verona is such an amazing place to walk for miles and miles, stopping at cute restaurants, shops and beauty along the way. There’s also a walking path around the river which we loved for a morning walk!

Pointe Del Castelveccio: stunning bridge that was built in the 1300s. I recommend adding it to your walk and if you like history or views, check out the museum at the end of the bridge.

Castel San Pietro: must see lookout point from above with incredible views of the river and city. It’s a pretty decent hike up a bunch of stairs so just keep that in mind. I think you can also take this gondola to the top if you’re not able to climb the stairs.

Get a Fruit Cup in Piazza Erbe: yes, I know this is random but it’s so good. You should see a stand with tons of fresh fruit cups right in the middle of the Piazza.

Piazza Bra & Piazza Erbe: there’s are the 2 main piazzas in Verona. I wouldn’t make a destination out of them but they’re nice to add to your list of places to see if you go on a big walk like us.

Skip it:

Juliette’s Balcony: there was a ton of hype online about Juliette’s balcony. I didn’t think it was anything special and it was super crowded so I’d skip it.
